Your Feelings and Food Support Group

Purpose of the Group: To provide an opportunity for individuals who are dealing with identification of feelings and eating issues to be able to meet together to receive information and support especially dealing with the emotional aspects of eating. The group will function as both a psycho-educational and support group and will provide a secure environment where group participants will be able to give and receive support and encouragement as well as experience personal growth.

Format: This will be a closed, unstructured group providing an opportunity for an open discussion of each individual’s life experiences and perspectives. Group members will be encouraged to read the resource book and to complete the exercises. The facilitator will guide the group to assist group members in becoming comfortable discussing personal aspects of their lives within the group setting. Discussion questions may be provided as homework assignments to encourage discussion among group members.

Goals: Group members will be able to identify and be aware of their feelings and understand the connection between feelings and food.

Age: Adults
Number of Participants: 6-8
Duration: 1.5 hours for 12-16 weeks

Clergy Support Group

Purpose of the Group: To provide an opportunity for clergy of all faiths and denominations to meet together to receive information and support especially dealing with their unique situations. The group will provide a secure environment where group participants will be able to give and receive support and encouragement as well as experience personal growth.

Format: This will be a closed, unstructured group providing an opportunity for an open discussion of each individual’s life experiences and perspectives. The facilitator will guide the group to assist group members in becoming comfortable discussing aspects of their professional and personal lives within the group setting.

Goals: Group members experience emotional and spiritual growth in a safe, confidential environment.

Number of Participants: 6-8
Duration: 1.5 hours for 12 weeks

Clergy Spouse Support Group
